Metal Urbain, one of the first French punk rock bands, was formed in Paris in 1976. They were the flagship band of the French punk scene in the pre-Bérurier Noir era. Metal Urbain's violent sound, featuring synthesizers, trashy guitars, and a drum machine, became known well beyond the borders of France.
